WELCOME TO ECUADOR

People from the United States do not need a visa to travel to Ecuador. When you stamp the entry stamp in your passport, you are being granted a tourist visa with a maximum of 90 days of stay, either entering by land or by air. However, the passport needs to be valid for at least six months from the moment of your arrival.

You can apply for a tourist visa before traveling to Ecuador. The validity of this visa is ninety (90) days as minimum and one hundred and eighty (180) days as maximum in a period of twelve (12) months from the date of entry into the country.

If you miss the days granted, when you leave the country, you will not be allowed to re-enter for a period of 9 months.

In case you come here to Ecuador as a tourist, and want to buy a property, you do not have to be an Ecuadorian resident to do it. Investing in a property, $ 25,000 or more, makes you automatically an investor, and a residence visa can be automatically granted after you have met all the requirements.

Whether you come to Ecuador as a retiree or as an investor, Ecuatrust offers you the services and assistance to make your move to the country as satisfactory as possible.

Once again we are reminded of how beautiful Ecuador is and how fortunate we are to live here. In a recent article, Huffington Post included Ecuador as one of "17 Epic Places You Never Thought To Travel, But Should" .

Ecuador is a small country - not much larger than Colorado - but within its borders you can find spectacular beauty.

The rain forests of the Amazon headwaters teem with wildlife. The Andes mountains are awesome in their raw splendor. The western border of the country is studded with beautiful beaches. Then of course the Galapagos islands.... no more needs to be said about that.

Moving and living in Ecuador gives you the opportunity to sample all that this country has to offer, and you don't have to do it as a tourist. All of these wonderful destinations are a mere few hours apart by bus or car.

Here are just two of the kinds of places waiting for you in Ecuador. Crucita on the Pacific coast features cliffs overlooking the water from which the more adventuresome go paragliding on weekends. BaƱos in the central portion of the country hosts cool forests, waterfalls and virtually unlimited hiking experiences.

It's all in Ecuador!!!

Welcome to Ecuatrust's blog!

Ecuatrust is dedicated to helping people move to Ecuador. This blog is designed to provide current and up to date information of interest to people in the process of, or even thinking about relocating to beautiful Ecuador.

Ecuador has been ranked as one of the foremost retirement destinations, with a relatively low cost of living in a country that offers the whole range weather and geography - from high in the Andes mountains, to the Amazon rain forests, to beautiful pacific beaches.

While Ecuador has made it as easy as possible to become a resident - far simpler than most Latin or Central American countries - the process can still appear complicated and intimidating to those unfamiliar with it. And too, for many people moving here, there is no getting around the fact it is a different country with a different culture. The combination of these things can make moving to Ecuador somewhat overwhelming. We formed Ecuatrust to help make it less so.

We value a long term relationship with our clients. Of course the starting point is the visa process - that is what people most often seek help with. And Ecuatrust can help you with every aspect of that process - from helping you assemble required documents, to obtaining certified translations, to filing everything with you. But we strive to be there to provide help in more and different ways. We can help you find the best place to live. If you're not sure where in Ecuador you want to end up, we can help you with temporary housing to serve as a base of operation while you tour the country. Yep - we can hook you up with reputable people that will show you the country.

But anyway, this is just a starting point. Check by often - we try to keep the page current and provide you with up to date news and features that may be helpful. For example - stay tuned for a post that will outline the new and fairly substantial changes to Ecuadorian immigration law.
